OBJECTIVES

Prepare a God fearing generation who love and serve God according to the scripture and lead a personal - family and social life upholding the spiritual and ethical values and as examples to the fellow men. The very fundamental objective of Sunday School is to fulfill the great commission ( Matthew 28:19-20) of Jesus Christ by teaching the scripture and make them disciples and lead them to the fellowship with Jesus Christ.

Apostle Paul says, All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for correction, for reproof, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.(II Timothy 3:16-17). Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not turn from it's- Proverb 22:6.

To achieve the objective, we plane, organize, and implement Christian Education through local Sunday school, workshops, seminars, Camps, Bible study, and through any other medium of spiritual learning that will enable individuals to grow in the word of God ( Bible) and relate it to their daily living. This education process will equip children and even adults to lead an exemplary life spiritually, physically, socially, emotionally and intellectually, .

NEED OF CHRISTIAN EDUCATION.

The growth of any society, whether a home or a nation, mainly depend upon the character of its people. All the problems that the present world faces are a reflection of the character of the people. Terrorism, riots, strikes, murder, factionalism, disputes and any other negative actions or reactions are the produce of bad character. Though the schools are meant for molding a generation of high morale, it fails in its mission. The very purpose of education is distorted every where and in a scenario of commercialism, it is very difficult to impart the ethical values in children.

People in the scientifically and technically advanced modern world has very little time to turn to God. Even the community which meant to call upon the name of God also has drifted away from its mission. The majority of the youth in the present generation are not much keen to go to Church and their involvement in the spiritual activities are in a low level. This is a threat to the church and the very basic reason for this situation is the lack of proper teaching of the word of God. Many people are not confirm about their salvation and eternal life. Here comes the need of Sunday School Education and the responsibility of the Sunday school teachers.

Man, machine and money are considered as trinity of the modern world. The need of the hour is to impart moral and spiritual values to the children to make them strong, brave, courageous and valiant enough to fight the unending list of evils and prepare them to face the pressures of the highly competitive world.

We need to mould the child in a way to make him a spiritual, God fearing, fruit bearing, useful, complete and perfect person. Spiritual wisdom and the quest for 'truth should be infused in the child at an early age. Moral and spiritual values should be inculcated in him so that he may differentiate right and wrong. Any academic excellence without ethics and morality is of no use to the society and is totally far from God's purpose of man.

Man in the modern world is running after many things to quench their thirst, but hardly find anything real which can quench them. The ultimate reality is God- Jesus Christ- and without Him, no one can experience the real happiness and peace. The sole purpose of Sunday school education is to lead a person to the saving knowledge of Christ and to develop a sound soul ( mind) and spirit in a sound body. The great goal of Christian education is not to impart the theological knowledge, but to make them eligible for eternity.

The children are to be taught to paint the vast canvas of life with principles, truthfulness, integrity and similar virtues so that it will not fade away even in the evenings of their life. These virtues will impart enough strength in the days of their troubles and will be able to lead a victorious Christian life amidst all kinds of pressures. They should know what is real and what is unreal.

No generation can pass on the eternal values of life like love, kindness, truth, integrity, idealism, service of others and moral & spiritual codes of conduct to the next generation without practicing these in their own lives. We look forward to have a society who know GOD , serve GOD and live as GOD's children, radiating the moral attributes of God to the perishing generation.
